The public charging stations for electric vehicles are already fully operational, making it
possible to charge two cars simultaneously.
Located in Ancede, in Praceta Campo da Aveleira and in Santa Marinha do Zêzere, in
Rua 20 de Junho, next to the Zezerense Central Building, this measure aims to make
urban centers more inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable and is in line with the
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Henrique Gaspar Ribeiro, the councillor responsible for the environment, said that
“Baião City Council is committed to environmental sustainability and we consider it
crucial to establish a network of charging stations for electric vehicles.
This is yet another important step in the process of certifying Baião as a sustainable
tourist destination.”
Highlighting the importance of this action, the mayor also emphasized that “this is a
commitment that we will continue to pursue and is one of the measures included in
Baião’s Municipal Climate Action Plan, which is in the final stages of preparation.”
For his part, José Lima, the councillor responsible for Traffic and Road Safety, added
that “this expansion is another step in the promotion of soft mobility in the municipality,
which we intend to continue to pursue, also with a view to sustainability and
decarbonization issues.
