The António Mota Municipal Library marked International Recycling Day on 17 May with a fun and educational session with writer Pedro Seromenho, which was attended by children from the Prenhô Kindergarten.
The councillor for the Environment at Baião Town Hall, Henrique Gaspar, opened the session, interacting with the children about the importance of looking after the environment.
The author then presented his collection ‘Reciclomania’, which consists of four books: ‘Maria Botelha, the adventurous bottle’; ‘Chico Fantástico, plastic superhero’; ‘Felismina Cartolina e João Papelão, uma paixão de amor e cartão’; and ‘O palhaço Avaria e o planeta Bateria’. Each of the books deals with an ecopoint and the importance of recycling.
At the end, the author gave books to the kindergarten, signing them, so that the ‘seed’ of respect for the environment can continue to be sown in the hearts of every child who will pass through the school in the future.
