Chamber creates “Espaço Energia de Baião” (Baião Energy Space) and reinforces commitment to sustainability

Today, 29 May, is World Energy Day. The celebration of this date aims to alert the population to the need to develop energy efficiency strategies.

This is the motto for the creation of the ‘Espaço Energia de Baião’ counter, an essential service to support the population in adopting energy efficiency and renewable energy measures. This measure reaffirms the municipality’s commitment to energy efficiency and the well-being of its population, reinforcing its position as an environmentally responsible and innovative territory.

Integrated into the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), this measure aims to promote energy literacy and encourage sustainable behaviour in energy consumption and intends to provide citizens with information on:

– Energy efficiency – Energy efficiency services focus on reducing energy consumption without compromising the comfort or functionality of the building. They include the assessment of buildings and systems, the identification of opportunities for improvement (such as insulation, efficient windows and low-consumption equipment) and the promotion of practices that help citizens use energy more intelligently and effectively;

– Renewable Energy – Support for citizens in the transition to renewable energy sources, such as solar energy. Technical information and guidance on installing renewable systems and details on available financial support are available, promoting solutions that reduce energy costs and environmental impact;

– Sustainable Mobility – Advice and information on sustainable mobility options, including charging points for electric vehicles and greener transport alternatives;

– Incentives and Financing – Information on support programmes available for the implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy measures, facilitating the adoption of sustainable and more economical energy solutions. Support for citizens in submitting applications for these incentives.

The first “Espaço Cidadão Energia” desk in Baião is now open, in this first phase, in the public service area of the Town Hall building, giving Baião residents easy access to information and advice on energy efficiency, helping to reduce costs and improve the sustainability of local homes and businesses.
