As part of the support measures for damage caused by the fires in September 2024, technicians from the Northern Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR-N), accompanied by technicians from the Baião Municipal Council, visited the area on 15 April to validate the damage reported by companies.
This verification refers to applications submitted under the measure: ‘restoration of companies’ productive capacities and competitiveness’.
According to the applications submitted by the deadline of 31 March, 12 applications for this measure were submitted in the municipality of Baião. It should also be noted that 23 applications were submitted through the Municipal Support Desk, relating to the reconstruction/rehabilitation of permanent and second homes, of which 6 have been approved to date. In these cases, 50 per cent of the amount applied for has been made available to the victims.
In the field of agriculture, of the 326 applications submitted, 224 have been settled, with a total value of €885,923.20, while the remainder are under review or selected for field inspection.
