On 17 June, the Baião Municipal Auditorium will host the IV Annual Conference on Environment and Sustainability, this year focusing on the theme ‘Peace, Planet and Sustainable Development’.
The event will be attended by several prominent figures from Portuguese society, including Major-General Filipe Arnaut Moreira, José Luís Carneiro, Member of Parliament and former Minister of Internal Administration, Helena Carreiras, Vice-Rector of the University Institute of Lisbon and former Minister of Defence, Luís Amado, Economist and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Paulo Portas, Vice-President of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and former Deputy Prime Minister.
The debates will be moderated by Inês Cardoso, Editorial Director of Jornal de Notícias, and Paula Nunes da Silva, presenter of the programme ‘Planeta Verde’ on Porto Canal.
This conference is a key opportunity to discuss the role of sustainability in peacebuilding and global development, bringing together different perspectives and knowledge in a shared reflection on the challenges that mark the present and will shape the future.
