As part of the celebrations for Baião Municipal Day, we are continuing to introduce, over the course of these days, the honourees for this year’s event.
Today we highlight Arlinda Vasconcelos and Ilda Vasconcelos, who have been awarded the Environmental Merit Medal.
The award recognises the contribution of both women to the conservation of the Carvalhal da Reixela, one of the most significant areas of native forest in the municipality, characterised by the presence of Alvarinho oak and a high level of biodiversity.
Their ongoing work has made it possible to preserve this natural area and enhance the environmental heritage of Baião.
