The Monastery of Santo André de Ancede was the place chosen for a meeting that marked the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year.
It was a symbolic ceremony that was attended by around 270 education professionals, including teaching and non-teaching staff, which began with a welcome session with speeches by the Mayor of Baião, Paulo Pereira, Councilor responsible for Education, Anabela Cardoso, the three directors of the Eiriz-Ancede, Sudeste de Baião and Vale de Ovil groups, José Matos, Manuela Miranda and Nuno Mota, respectively, as well as Daniel Guedes, President of the Parish Union of Ancede and Ribadouro and of Ana Marta Silva representing the Municipal Assembly.
Guests also visited the renovated spaces of the Monastery, where they were able to appreciate the triptych by Joos van Cleve, an exhibition on the history of Baião and a preview of the exhibition ” Grand Masters”, made up of contemporary works of art by national and international artists of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century.
The Municipality’s environmental concerns were also not forgotten. The “Green Team”, a multidisciplinary team whose function is to ensure the necessary work to fulfill the criteria required for the certification of Baião as a Sustainable Tourist Destination, delivered reusable bottles to all guests.
This initiative ended with a social lunch in the tent installed in the complex.
