Public session to present Baia o’s Municipal Climate Action Plan

On April 3, at 5:30 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Town Hall, Baia o City Council will
present the Baia o Municipal Climate Action Plan (PMAC).
This is a strategic document provided for in the Basic Law on Climate, which aims to
respond to the challenges arising from climate change.
Focusing on adaptation to the current and future climate and the mitigation of
greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, it is divided into three strategic axes and includes
mitigation measures, adaptation measures and operationalization, training and
awareness-raising measures.
Its objectives are to increase the capacity for adaptation, making the municipality more
resilient; to strengthen the mitigation component, making the municipality more
efficient; to identify adaptation and mitigation measures and actions to be carried out
at municipal level and to share and disseminate information, forming a community
that is more sensitive and aware of this climate change issue.
With this vision, the municipality is taking on the national commitments set out in the
Basic Law on Climate, making its contribution at local level to achieving them, i.e.
reducing emissions by at least 55% by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
This plan is another step on the road to sustainability and is in line with the
Sustainable Development Goals and Baia o’s certification as a Sustainable Destination.
Public consultation period open until April 14th
The public consultation period is currently underway and ends on April 14, 2024.
