The Municipality of Baião and the Parish Councils of the municipality will collaborate, once again, in providing 1500 sets of “Ecobags” to the citizens of Baião.
Each set consists of three bags for different types of waste: a glass bag, a paper/cardboard bag and a third plastic bag.
This initiative is a gesture to raise awareness of the importance of waste separation and recycling and will be followed by others in the coming months.
“These bags facilitate the separation of recyclable waste at home and the consequent transport to the Ecoponto. By recycling, we are protecting the environment and reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfill, which is very important”, said the councilor for the Environment of the Municipality of Baião, Henrique Ribeiro.

The bags were made available by the entity responsible for the Waste Collection system, Resinorte, to the Environment department of the Baião City Council.
