Held on the 30th of March, at the Portuguese Environment Agency, the session was attended by the Green Team, following the subscription of the Municipality of Baião to the Blue Flag Association of Europe (ABAE) programme.
This program distinguishes the most sustainable municipalities in Portugal, based on a voluntary application that includes 21 indicators, related to the environmental, social and economic aspects of sustainability: from water quality to biodiversity, energy or waste management, including environmental education, participation, mobility, spatial planning, employment, sustainable tourism or climate change.
Seeking constant alignment with new paradigms, the ECOXXI indicators are aimed above all at drawing a picture of the sustainability of each municipality, also constituting a tool that monitors the objectives of the 2030 Agenda, as well as the effectiveness of policies, projects and actions, developed annually.
