Baião competes with 4 more municipalities in the AHRESP Awards

The municipality of Baião is nominated for the Portuguese Hotel and Restaurant Association (AHRESP) awards in the “Revelation Destination of the Year” category.

Baião is competing with 4 other Portuguese municipalities, which stood out in terms of heritage and tourism promotion in 2021.

The AHRESP Awards annually distinguish the Best of the Year in the Restaurant, Accommodation and Tourism Promotion sectors in Portugal.

Baião thus sees its promotion strategy recognised, as well as the evolution felt in recent years in terms of attracting visitors and tourists, with a positive impact on the local economic and social dynamism.

The Mayor of Baião, Paulo Pereira, was “satisfied with this recognition, which shows once again that the work of promoting Baião in a positive way is bearing fruit. Tourism is a sector that has grown exponentially in our county and I am sure it will grow even more, as we have extraordinary potential not only in terms of heritage, gastronomy and landscapes, but also with regard to the hotel offer.

It is gratifying to have this recognition and just the fact that we are nominated already gives us projection and recognition, but it would be good to win, so anyone who can vote for Baião on the website of this Award.”

Baião competes with the municipalities of Arouca, Coimbra, Évora and Ilha das Flores. It is possible for anyone to vote in Baião, until the 30th of May

The categories defined for this year’s Edition are: Innovative Concept, Gastronomic Revelation, Product of the Year, Service of the Year, Solidarity Project, Environmental Sustainability, Media Project, New Talent, Revelation Destination of the Year, Training Entity, Establishment with History and Event of the year.

The Awards Ceremony will take place at Pátio da Galé, in Lisbon, on the 1st of July.
