Earth Hour – “Small actions with a big impact” is the motto for 2024
The Municipality of Baia o is once again joining Earth Hour, an environmental action
promoted internationally by the global nature conservation organization World
Wildlife Found (WWF).
Since 2007, this initiative has been a global movement of millions of people around the
world who unite, through the symbolic gesture of switching off their lights for 60
minutes, to show their commitment to the planet.
It’s time to take action!
Tonight, between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m., we’re switching off the exterior lighting in the
Paços do Concelho building.
This initiative is based on one of the municipality’s most important goals, the
fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and is in line with Baia o’s
certification as a Sustainable Destination.
All citizens are challenged to dedicate 60 minutes to doing something positive for the
planet, whether it’s picking up litter in a park, preparing dinner with sustainable
ingredients, planting a tree or sorting waste for recycling.
Everyone’s participation is essential to show that, by joining forces, it is possible to
make a difference in protecting the environment and fighting climate change.
Together, we can save our planet!
Take part in Earth Hour and contribute to a more sustainable future for everyone.
