European Mobility Week – Presentation of the book “Mobility in the Future”

Following the European Mobility Week, which runs from the 16th to the 22nd of September, the book “Mobility in the Future” by Luís Amaral was presented today at the António Mota Municipal Library.

This work provides a vision of the imminent transformations in the way people move, tracing a panorama that dates back to the invention of the automobile more than a century ago and presenting the various possibilities for evolution that will, inevitably, change the mobility paradigm in the coming years. years.

During the presentation, the various factors that could change the future of mobility were discussed, as well as the multiple possibilities for evolution with regard to technology, namely autonomous vehicles.

Luís Amaral has a degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Transport from Instituto Superior Técnico.

He shared his vast knowledge, acquired over more than thirty years of experience in project management, especially in the areas of infrastructure and transport.

Currently, he works at Metropolitano de Lisboa and collaborates with Jornal de Negócios.

European Mobility Week represents the European Commission’s main initiative to raise awareness among citizens about the promotion of sustainable mobility, encouraging the adoption of behaviors that favor active mobility, public transport and other clean and smart transport alternatives.
