European Mobility Week – Tips for more sustainable car mobility

As part of EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK 2023, here are some tips to make automotive mobility more sustainable.

Choosing eco-driving allows you to reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, which contribute to global warming and climate change.

 Only start the car engine immediately before starting the journey and turn off the car whenever it is stationary for more than a minute.

 Drive at a constant speed, avoiding sudden accelerations and braking;

 Use high gears, which mean a lower engine speed and, consequently, lower consumption;

 On steeply inclined descents, you must keep the vehicle in a compatible gear (brake with the engine), thus achieving greater safety and zero consumption;

 Comply with speed limits, saving fuel and contributing to road safety;

 Choose the best route. A well-planned trip is a good resource for saving fuel;

 Keep the vehicle tuned and check the oil level and tire pressure regularly;

 Do not drive with excess load in the car. Check that the trunk of your car only has the essentials;

 Avoid using the car on short trips. Saves fuel and contributes to your physical well-being;

 Consider car sharing for regular trips to work or leisure.
