European Waste Prevention Week takes place between the 18th and 26th of November. The Municipality of Baião is associated with this project, this year with the central theme “Packaging –- Don’t let yourself get wrapped up!”
In 2020, the EU produced a total of 79.3 million tonnes of packaging waste, which corresponds to 177 kg per person.
Packaging already represents 40% of plastics and 50% of paper used in the EU.
Promote the REDUCTION of consumption, REUSE of products and materials and RECYCLING of waste, including bio-waste.
