Help protect our environment: Use the Oleons!

Did you know that one litre of cooking oil can contaminate a million litres of water?
When dumped in pipes, the oil solidifies on the walls of the pipes, causing blockages and damage to the infrastructure, as well as jeopardising the functioning of the Waste Water Treatment Plants.
To combat this problem, Baião Town Council has set up a network of 21 oil bins in all the parishes in the municipality.
These containers, equipped with filling sensors, guarantee efficient collection by a licensed organisation.
Contribute to environmental sustainability!
Deposit your used cooking oil in the bins and help preserve our planet.
How to use the bins:

  1. Let the oil cool down.
  2. Put it in a well-sealed plastic bottle.
  3. Put the bottle in the nearest rubbish bin.
Remember, only oils of food origin, such as cooking oil, olive oil or canned oil, should be placed in the bins.
Together, we can make a difference.
Use the bins and help keep Baião clean and sustainab
