Within the scope of the Educational Project of the Municipality, the Department of Education of the Municipality of Baião promoted three study visits to the area of Carvalhal de Reixela, with the classes of the 5th year of basic education, from the three Groupings of Schools (AE), Southeast, Eiriz and Vale de Ovil, involving around 120 students, accompanied by teachers.
The visits took place in January and February, conducted by the Technical Forestry Office of the municipality, which took the opportunity to make known that emblematic area of our municipality, rich in native species and biodiversity, as well as to promote ecological awareness and environmental sustainability, with the students.
The actions were foreseen in the Annual Plan of Activities that the Municipality proposed to the AEs for the 2022/2023 school year, inserted in the axis of valuing the natural, environmental and cultural heritage of Baião, as a sustainable municipality.
The Councilor for Education, Anabela Cardoso, underlined the importance of these visits to “make new generations aware of the rich heritage of our land, raise awareness of environmental issues and the sustainability that we adopt as one of the reference areas for the development of our municipality”.
