Visit to Carvalhal de Reixela

On 17, 18 and 19 March, 120 5th grade students from the three school groups in the municipality of Baião took part in a visit to Carvalhal de Reixela.
The main aims of the initiative, organised by the Education Services of the Municipality of Baião as part of the Municipal Education Project, were to publicise the municipality’s environmental heritage, showcase one of the largest continuous patches of native oak forest on the Iberian Peninsula and make the students aware of the importance of preserving our forests.
The visit culminated in a walk along the River Ovil, which also allowed the students to explore the ecological corridor that exists there.
