The Municipality of Baião and the three Groups of Schools in the Municipality participated in the Green Flags Day – “Galardão Eco-Escolas 2022”, on October 12, in Valongo. This action marked the return of the initiative, after 2 years of interregnum, due to the pandemic.
During the ceremony, the Municipality of Baião was recognized as “Municipal Partner Eco-Schools 2022”, for the encouragement and support provided to groups within the scope of this Programme.
The three School Groups were represented by teachers and students involved, having received the Eco-Schools flag, as a symbol of the commitment made in favor of Education for Sustainable Development and for the work carried out in the 2021/2022 school year.
Eco-Schools is an International Program of the Foundation for Environmental Education, present in 74 countries, which encourages the active participation of children and young people in decision-making and in the implementation of the various actions, which this year basically fall into themes such as: Biodiversity; Preserve and Regenerate, Outdoor Spaces, Water, Waste and Energy.
