Municipality of Baião is present at the AHRESP Congress

“SUSTAINABILITY: UTOPIA OR SURVIVAL?” is the motto of the Congress of the Association of Hotels, Restaurants and Similar Services of Portugal (AHRESP), which is taking place between today and tomorrow, at the Convento de São Francisco in Coimbra.

An unprecedented format, with two plenary sessions, 22 parallel sessions and more than 60 guest speakers debating one of the most important topics of the moment, Sustainability (Economic and Financial, Social and Environmental), and how it can be integrated into the lives of companies.

The opening session was attended by the Minister of Economy, António Costa Silva, the Secretary of State for Tourism, Commerce and Services, Rita Marques, the Councilor of State, Luís Marques Mendes and the President of AHRESP, Carlos Moura, among others. individuals linked to the sector.

Today, the Municipality of Baião was represented by the Mayor, Paulo Pereira, and tomorrow, the Councilor for the Environment Henrique Gaspar Ribeiro will be present.

Throughout the congress, several sessions will take place, with multiple recognized speakers to address the current situation, but also with presentations and practical case studies.

Baião, the first Portuguese Municipality to be distinguished as a Sustainable Tourist Destination, was also recognized, at the beginning of July, by AHRESP as “Revelation Destination of the Year”, within the scope of the AHRESP Awards, which annually distinguishes the Best of the Year in the sectors of Restaurant, Accommodation and Tourism Promotion, in Portugal.
